Who I am?
My name is Davide, I am a 23 year old young man from Pescara (Italy), whit a passion for the Inter Milan Soccer team and for the videogames. I was a kid like many others, until I was diagnosed whit a neurodegenerative disease called Friedreich’s Ataxia. It would be difficult and extremely complex to explain it, and since I am not a doctor, there is a link that you can click on for more information. It’s enough to say that the Friedreich’s Ataxia gives: speech and coordination issues and it degenerate into severe heart problems.
As You can imaginate, my life has progressively worsened relentessely; for the disease and also for some injuries that I sustained.
When I was at lyceum, I had to buy and use, a medical walker, I stil have to practice physical therapy everyday to prevent the worsening of my condition suddenly can fail.
At the moment my disease is winning over me, but I don’t give up easily. The “Battle” is on, and for these reason, whit a group of friend I decided to face it head on, and We created the:
Baltimore Project
Our Goal?
Whit the Baltimore Project, We aim to send me to the United States to partecipate to some medical trials and experimental therapies available in USA.
The name Baltimore Project recalls the city where the Johns Hopkins Hospital is. The Johns Hopkins facility invests so much money into the medical research and into the trials against the Friedreich’s Ataxia.

I want people know that in only one month since I reached out to the North American hospitals I have received so much atttention from the medical researchers of the Friedreich’s Ataxia and I was given more chance to partecipate in different medical trials that I had never received before as I discovered my disease.
